Pete Menefee Costume Design for Michael Jackson, Uniform Jacket and Glove (1942-) Original hand painted sketch by Pete Menefee for a costume to be worn by Michael Jackson. Menefee enjoyed over 30+ years of experience as a award-winning costume designer; his work has appeared in various beauty pageants, variety shows, television specials, Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe ceremonies but most notably his costumes for Cher, Kiss, Motown and Vegas Showgirls. Here is a Menefee design for singer superstar Michael Jackson, his favored military style design and beaded glove at the time. 19 Dazzling Costume Designs for Las Vegas Showgirls and Entertainers by Celebrated Designer, Pete Menefee (1942-) Pete Menefee, five time Emmy nominee and winner of three for costume design. When MGM and Don Arden decided to create a Vegas extravaganza called Jubilee! the costume designers were Bob Mackie and Menefee who created over 1000 separate outfits for the show. It ran for 35 years (!!!) and had production numbers that proved a sensation including the sinking of the Titanic! Menefee likely created these sketches which very much tipped a hat to Jubilee! he created for the 75th Anniversary of Las Vegas and won the Emmy for it in 1988. These sketches were beautifully kept and beg to be displayed if not for any other reason the sensational colors. All are 22 x 10" on board, one still having sample fabric. Estimated Value $500 - UP

Pete Menefee (1942 -) has been nominated for 5 Emmys for costume design and won three. His IMDB page is extensive with over 30 years of work listed in film and television and it is a very long list. He has designed costumes for entertainers as diverse as the band KISS, to Cher, to the entire roster at Motown to fashion icon and legend Audrey Hepburn. There are ten (10) costume sketches pertaining to concepts for the 1993 Miss America Pageant where he successfully took the pageant from stiff and blown-out to more fun, playful and naturally appealing. Also included are ten (10) sketches from numerous other television events many requiring numerous costumes for extras including the Liberty Weekend Closing Ceremonies. DEAD MAN (1995) Screen Used Wanted Poster from Jim Jarmusch's Western Starring Johnny Depp as William Blake. DEAD MAN by Jim Jarmusch, is a strange and compelling work by Jim Jarmusch beautifully shot in B&W tells the story of a man named William Blake during the western migration in America. The film is a journey whereupon the youthful Blake kills a man and a bounty is put on his head. The film boasted an incredible cast and was well reviewed but never broke out into the mainstream. Offered is a screen used/produced wanted poster that is seen several times as the bounty on Blake increases as the film progresses. Confirmation of the poster can be seen in the trailer on-line. Printed on grey stock which appears soft white in the film and measures 15 x 10½" Some purposeful distressing to paper. Estimated Value $150 - UP
